How to change your Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password
Takes about two minutes. These steps are for the Tenda routers we normally install. If your router looks different, WhatsApp support with a photo of it and we will guide you.
Step 1: Log in to the router
- Connect your phone or computer to your Wi-Fi.
- Open a browser and type
192.168.0.1in the address bar, then press Enter. - Enter the router login password and tap Login.
The default login password is printed on a sticker on the bottom of the router. If you changed it and forgot it, use Forgot your password? under the Login button, or contact support.
Step 2: Change the name and password
- On the home page tap Wireless Settings.
- Enter your new Wi-Fi name (SSID) and a new password of at least 8 characters.
- For Security Mode choose WPA/WPA2-PSK if asked.
- Tap OK to save.
Step 3: Reconnect your devices
The router will restart its Wi-Fi and you will be disconnected. Wait about 30 seconds, then connect every device again using the new name and password.
Forgot the new password?
Hold the reset button on the router for about 10 seconds to restore factory settings, then set it up again from Step 1 using the password on the sticker. If you would rather we do it, WhatsApp support and we will walk you through it or visit.
